Did you ever wonder why colleges “make” new students have roommates? Yes, there is the sheer financial piece of it all. Abby is in an on campus two bedroom, two bathroom apartment where a cleaning person comes once a week to clean bathrooms and the kitchen (provided the dishes are already done.) The cost is about $4000 monthly- no food included. Putting students in compact spaces also makes better use of the property and alleviates the need to construct more housing capacity.
